In the heart of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park lies Salema Eco Camp, a place where you can kick off your shoes and feel the pulse of the earth.

We are the first hotel in the south of Portugal with a regenerative tourism project and a candidate for the Zero Waste business certificate.

We calculate our carbon footprint every year, striving to reduce it and investing in decarbonization projects.

Camping

Tents, caravans, motorhomes: everyone is welcome! Here, you will be free to choose your space and enjoy the shade of one of our imposing trees, in the company of the fauna and flora that live here with us.

Glamping

The Tipi, Woody, Domos and Willow Tree Dome tents are ideal for lovers of authentic camping. Comfortable and charming, they are a delight for children (and more!).

Lodges

The Eco Lodges, on the other hand, are lovely little wooden houses, rustic and discreet, with all the comforts of home and an invigorating view over the valley. Let yourself be enveloped by the soft tones of nature, the vegetation and the birdsong, in this corner where time seems to stand still.

Mobile Homes

Our Mobile Homes are so welcoming that you almost feel at home. They are located in an elevated, quiet and privileged area, with parking at the door. Here, you can enjoy total privacy without giving up your communion with nature.

Apartaments and Studios

For lovers of fresh air who can't do without the coziness of conventional accommodation, we have apartments and studios with personalized, modern décor, a large living room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and spacious terraces, perfect for reading a good book (or taking a nice nap...). In some of them, you'll find a variety of plants carefully selected by the regeneration team to provide a feeling of comfort and well-being.

Our regenerative actions promote practices that contribute to the recovery of the ecosystem, minimizing the environmental footprint and seeking a reciprocal balance. Here, we celebrate natural and social diversity.

On the road to zero waste

Follow the steps that lead us towards zero waste. We are committed to creating a positive impact on the environment and preserving it as natural and healthy as possible, planting seeds of change.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

We already filtered our water, but we went even further in reusing this scarce commodity in the Algarve: we built a wastewater treatment plant to recycle all the water used on the premises, giving the environment back its most precious asset.

COMPOSITE

We have our own composting system available to guests. Together, we can make a huge difference, drastically reducing waste and producing organic matter that we use in the park and, in the near future, will use in our vegetable garden. WE DON'T USE TOXIC PRODUCTS

Here, air, water and soil want to be pure. That's why our cleaning team only uses non-toxic products, and in sewage treatment we use micro-organisms that disinfect thoroughly, without infecting the ecosystem.

LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT MENU

At the Nazari restaurant, we calculate the carbon footprint of each dish so that our visitors can make a more conscious choice. Cooking with the best local products, at the end of the meal only the taste and freshness will remain in the memory.

Stunning campsite with a magical atmosphere. We stopped here in August with our camper van for around ten days. On arrival we had a problem with diesel leaking from the vehicle and we were supported in every way possible. They called in a reliable mechanic who solved the problem on the spot, allowing us to continue our journey. From a human point of view, the fantastic staff at this campsite should be highlighted. But that’s not all, the location is marvellous, the services are new and very clean, and the atmosphere is magical. The restaurant and in-house shop are also excellent. The pitches in the upper area are phenomenal. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful campsite with plenty of space and excellent pitches that extend into a small valley. The sanitary facilities were always clean and well maintained, the showers were also great.

The small shop on the campsite offers all sorts of things and supplies and was stocked with great attention to detail.

We spent a very pleasant night at the campsite! The reception was very friendly and you immediately felt at home. You can choose the seats yourself, which was really great, and we can recommend the food in the restaurant: there was a good vegan selection and a bar, overall a very nice atmosphere.
The Eco Store was also worth a visit.
We would have liked to stay longer – for the price it was unbeatable.
Activities such as yoga, massages or surfing can also be easily booked there.
