What is the recommended duration for a stay at Salema Eco Camp?
The minimum stay depends on the time of year, but if you wish to dedicate time to yourself or your family, experience something enriching, surrounded by nature, and participate in the programs designed for you, our recommendation is 4 to 5 nights.
What should I bring?
At Salema Eco Camp, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact.
We kindly ask that you bring natural or eco-certified products for personal hygiene and care, such as soap, shampoo, insect repellent, and others.
Also, remember to bring a reusable water bottle, as we have several filtered and drinkable water sources. Don’t forget to bring a lantern as well, as, to preserve nocturnal biodiversity and reduce light pollution, the park’s artificial lighting is limited.
These products are also available for purchase at our shop.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing for yoga classes or other activities, as well as a warm piece of clothing for cooler nights.
At Salema Eco Camp, we are taking significant steps towards zero impact and implementing a no-waste policy. Therefore, we kindly ask that you reduce the use of disposables: peel more, unpack less. We offer composting to contribute to sustainability.
Does Salema Eco Camp have Internet/Wi-Fi?
Yes, Salema Eco Camp offers free Wi-Fi in common areas (restaurant, reception, and coworking). Our coworking spaces are ideal for those who need to work and are open 24 hours a day, every day.
Do you have a laundry service?
We have several self-service washing and drying machines in the park’s bathrooms, which use eco-friendly detergents. Payment can be made by bank card or cash.
Where can I buy food near Salema Eco Camp?
Next to the Reception, we have the Eco Store that sells:
- Bread
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Non-perishable items
- Personal hygiene products
- Products for children
- And much of what you need for your stay.
It’s a shop designed to meet the needs of our customers.
The traditional market in Vila do Bispo operates every morning from Monday to Saturday, and the local and organic producers’ market in Lagos is open on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. There are also mini-markets and supermarkets located 3 to 15 minutes by car.
How can I get to the beach?
Throughout the year, Salema Eco Camp offers a free transfer to Salema Beach, which is 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot.
What is the closest city to the park?
We are 3 minutes by car from Salema, 15 minutes from Sagres, and 24 minutes from Lagos. Salema is a fishing village in the parish of Budens, located in the municipality of Vila do Bispo.
How do I get to Salema Eco Camp?
If you’re traveling by car, you can use the A22 (Via do Infante) motorway, which connects Faro and Spain, or the A2 towards Lisbon. For those traveling by public transport, there are train connections from Lisbon and Faro Airport to Lagos. From Lagos, you can continue your journey with bus line 47 from the Vamus Algarve company, and there is a bus stop right in front of the Campground.
What type of food is served at the restaurant?
The Nazari Restaurant offers several meals a day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is primarily based on Mediterranean cuisine, and the service is available throughout the day, offering fresh juices, smoothies, light meals, and a wide range of desserts. We also offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Are there any night activities?
Night activities include theater, music, and cinema. Our activity calendar is posted on the information board and regularly updated.
What are the bathrooms like?
We have mixed and unisex public bathrooms, with shower areas and manual dish or laundry washing facilities for all guests. There is a dedicated area for families with young children, including a bathtub, sink, and changing table. The apartments, studios, lodges, and mobile homes have their own private bathrooms.
Do you have a fridge?
All our accommodations and glamping units are equipped with a fridge or mini-fridge. The campground does not have a communal fridge.
Can I bring my pet?
We are a pet-friendly space and allow animals in the campground, glamping, and mobile homes. We do not accept pets in our apartments and studios. We kindly ask that our four-legged friends are kept on a leash, and we rely on everyone’s help to keep the space clean.
Do you offer surf lessons?
Yes. You can rent surfboards and wetsuits at the reception. For more information about lessons and surf schools, please contact us. We have some suggestions for you!
What activities can I book or do at the park?
At Salema Eco Camp, we have activities all year round. We offer regenerative nature activities, hiking, coasteering, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, boat tours, or horseback riding. We rent bikes and e-bikes for your rides, as well as surf equipment. We also have a dedicated area for massages, therapies, workshops, retreats, and different styles of Yoga for all ages.

Does the park have a pool?
We do not have a pool, as we are so close to the sea. Salema Beach is a 15-minute walk away.
Do the accommodations have air conditioning/heating?
All our studios and apartments have a stove or heater during the colder months, and fans during the warmer months. The mobile homes have air conditioning.
How can I check in/check out?
Check-in/check-out is done at the reception. We advise you to arrive during the day for a more comfortable and safe check-in. After reception hours, you can check in at the gate until midnight. If you arrive after 10 p.m., parking will be available near the entrance gate in a secure area, but with limited access to electricity. In the morning, you can choose your parking space comfortably.
For check-in, please have your ID card/passport/driving license with you. A valid document will be required as a deposit, which will be returned at the end of your stay.
Camping check-out is until 5 p.m. For accommodations, check-in is from 4 p.m., and check-out is until 11 a.m. the next day.
Does the park have quiet hours?
Yes. At Salema Eco Camp, the quiet hours are from midnight to 8 a.m.
Can I make camping/caravan reservations?
We do not accept reservations for camping/caravan spaces and do not have designated plots. Our reception opens at 8 a.m. Please check in as early as possible to make the most of your stay.
Do you have barbecue areas?
Yes, Salema Eco Camp has fixed barbecues for use by campers. The use of gas stoves is permitted but subject to certain conditions related to fire risk.
During periods of high or very high fire risk, the use of gas stoves is not allowed. The fire risk level is updated daily and can be checked in the park’s bathroom areas. Open fires are prohibited under any circumstances. Please follow all park management guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.
How can I be environmentally responsible at the eco camp?
At Salema Eco Camp, we are committed to reducing our human impact, achieving zero waste, and regenerating the planet. By choosing us, you’re embracing a regenerative lifestyle for yourself, your family, or friends.
We have two waste islands for recycling paper, glass, plastic, metal, electronic waste, and more. We also have a composting area for organic waste. Remember to reduce the amount of mixed waste and disposables.
We have a sharing spot where you can leave and take materials in a reusable condition. We also provide charging stations for electric bikes and cars. Save water and be efficient with the use of electrical equipment. Whenever possible, prefer local products and services. Choose natural or eco-certified products.
